Armed Forces of Malta personnel were deployed to support operations in the Aegean region as part of Malta’s ‘ongoing commitment to European border management and regional security.’
The AFM’s contingent is contributing to efforts focused on strengthening external border control, ‘enhancing situational awareness, and supporting authorities in safeguarding life at sea.’
‘This deployment forms part of a wider European Union mission coordinated by Frontex to ensure effective and responsible management of the Union’s external borders.’
