Armed Forces Of Malta Mark Celebration Day With Paola Mass

Members of the Armed Forces of Malta, led by Brigadier Clinton J. O’Neill, attended a thanksgiving Mass at the Basilica of Christ the King in Paola to mark the Armed Forces of Malta Celebration Day.

The concelebrated service, led by Monsignor Joseph Galea Curmi, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Malta, brought together the Lieutenant Chaplain of the Armed Forces, Fr Sergio Fenech, and chaplains from the Corradino Correctional Facility, the Police Force and the Civil Protection Department.

The event was attended by the Minister for Home Affairs, Security and Employment, Byron Camilleri, alongside representatives from the various units of the Armed Forces. The ceremony began with a guard of honour, after which the Armed Forces’ flags were carried into the Basilica and placed upon the altar during the Mass.

Minister Camilleri described the occasion as an opportunity to recognise the dedication and daily sacrifices of service members who ensure the country’s safety. He added that recent efforts have focused on improving working conditions and strengthening employment rights through the most comprehensive sectoral agreement in the Forces’ history.

Monsignor Galea Curmi commended the Armed Forces as an example of commitment and service to others, reflecting the values of duty and solidarity that define their mission.
