Armed Forces of Malta Celebrate Global Chaplains Day

The Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) marked Global Chaplains Day, an annual observance held on the first Saturday of February, reflecting on the crucial role chaplains play across diverse institutions and recognising their selfless service.

Chaplains have a long-standing history alongside Maltese military units. As professionally qualified specialist support officers, Military Chaplains continue to play a vital role in fostering spiritual and moral resilience within the Armed Forces.

They provide support, guidance, and hope to military personnel and their families, particularly in challenging circumstances. The AFM emphasised that chaplains are essential in ministering to the needs of personnel, ensuring both their emotional and spiritual well-being while strengthening the values and cohesion of the force.

Global Chaplains Day is a reminder of the dedication and compassion chaplains bring to the armed forces, supporting those who serve and their loved ones.
