Archbishop Charles Scicluna Calls For Love And Peace During 'Redentur' Pilgrimage In Senglea

Thousands filled the streets of Senglea yesterday evening for the annual pilgrimage with the 'Redentur' statue, led by Charles Scicluna, Archbishop of Malta.
Speaking during Mass after the national pilgrimage, the Archbishop reflected on the spiritual meaning of the walk and the beginning of these sacred days before Easter.
He said the pilgrimage reminds believers that life gains “a beautiful and good flavour” when it is rooted in love.
Archbishop Scicluna invited everyone to draw closer to God through confession so they can become a presence of love in society and seek forgiveness for the times they pursued things that distanced them from Him.
In his homily, he highlighted the three forms of love taught by Jesus: love for oneself by caring for one’s heart, love for others because they are made in God’s image, and love for God as a response to the immense love already received.
He also prayed for the gift of peace in the world, calling for an end to greed, violence and the killing of innocent people.
