Applications Open For Rock’N Malta 2026 Fund With €1 Million Allocation

Minister for Culture, the Arts and Local Government, Owen Bonnici, has launched a call for applications for the Rock’N Malta Fund 2026, with a total allocation of €1,000,000 to provide support to organisers, promoters, and artists or bands involved in rock music events.

The fund is once again being administered by Festivals Malta.

Minister Bonnici stated, “This is another strong step towards further strengthening the rock music scene in our country. Initiatives such as this provide opportunities for local artists and promoters to showcase their talent and create high-quality events. Thanks to Festivals Malta for continuing to be a key pillar of Maltese culture.”

Aaron Zahra, Chairman of Festivals Malta, said, “For another year, we are pleased to announce this fund, which offers significant support to organisers and promoters within the rock music scene. We remain committed to investing in this sector to continuously improve the quality of events offered locally. I encourage promoters and organisers to respond to our invitation and apply for this fund.”Frans Agius, Chief Executive Officer of Festivals Malta, added:

“Rock’N Malta is an important platform for Festivals Malta as it allows us to reach a musical sector that is hugely popular in our country. Through the support provided by this fund, we have this year brought diverse acts such as Dire Straits Legacy, Apocalyptica, Zucchero, and others to Malta, while also assisting several local festivals including Rockwired, Rock the South, Dark Malta, and many more.”
