APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR MUŻIKA MUŻIKA 2027 AS FESTIVAL PREPARATIONS GET UNDERWAY

Applications for the seventh edition of Mużika Mużika have officially opened, with the festival set to take place between 11 and 13 March 2027.

Entries can be submitted online through the official Mużika Mużika website until 26 September 2026 or delivered in person to the Festivals Malta offices in Floriana on 24 and 25 September.

Minister Malcolm Paul Agius Galea said the government remains committed to investing in culture through initiatives such as Mużika Mużika, describing the festival as an important platform that celebrates the Maltese language while creating opportunities for local artists to develop and showcase their talent.

Festivals Malta Chairman Aaron Zahra praised the festival's growing reputation, noting that it is often compared to international music festivals thanks to its high production standards. Artistic Director Maestro Paul Abela added that Mużika Mużika continues to leave a lasting legacy, with its songs remaining popular long after the festival ends.

During the launch, trophies were also presented to the winners of the sixth edition. The winning song was 'Nistaqsi', performed by Jasmine Abela, composed by Glen Vella with lyrics by Philip Vella. Daniel Cauchi's 'Niftakarna' placed second, while Kevin Paul's 'Int u Jien' finished third.
