Labour Parliamentary Secretary responsible for Animal Welfare, Alicia Bugeja Said, has congratulated newly elected Nationalist Party MP Dr Andrew Agius following his historic election to the Maltese Parliament.

In her message, Bugeja Said said:

“Nawgura lill Dr Andrew Agius li ġie elett fil-Parlament ta’ Malta. Ninsab ċerta li l-esperjenza tiegħu bħala veterinarju se tkun ta’ kontribut siewi għall-Ħarsien tal-Annimali. Inħares il-quddiem biex naħdmu flimkien għal dan il-qasam tant importanti.”

Dr Andrew Agius has made history by becoming the first veterinarian ever to be elected to the Maltese Parliament after securing a seat through the Nationalist Party’s District 7 casual election.

Following the conclusion of the Labour Party’s casual election earlier this week, the Nationalist Party also finalised its own process, with Andrew Agius, Graziella Attard Previ, Stanley Zammit, and Ian Vassallo all confirmed as elected MPs.
