Alex Borg Visits Caritas Malta Therapeutic Centre In San Blas

During a visit to the San Blas Therapeutic Centre run by Caritas Malta, Alex Borg emphasised the need for stronger national support systems for people struggling with addiction.

"We need holistic solutions that safeguard and support anyone who may fall into addiction”, he said. “Malta requires professional services, such as those provided by the dedicated team at Caritas Malta, offering personalised care to every resident."

He was welcomed by Caritas Director Anthony Gatt and members of the organisation’s leadership, who showed him around the centre. Accompanied by Sarah Bajada, the PN Leader met several residents taking part in the programme that helps individuals recovering from drug addiction.

The initiative forms part of the wider range of residential services provided by Caritas Malta, which include accommodation, outreach support and guidance to help residents reintegrate into society.

Alex Borg later joined residents for a community meal. At the end of the visit, Anthony Gatt presented him with a copy of the book Inħobbkom, which tells the story of Caritas founder Monsignor Victor Grech, in the presence of the author Joe Cassar.
