Alex Borg Unveils Full Partit Nazzjonalista Shadow Cabinet

Opposition Leader and Partit Nazzjonalista (PN) Leader Alex Borg has announced the party's new Shadow Cabinet, saying it reflects a blend of experience and fresh energy while positioning the PN as an alternative government ready to lead the country.

The Shadow Cabinet consists of 28 Shadow Ministers and eight spokespersons, all selected from the PN Parliamentary Group elected at the last general election.

Alex Borg will serve as Leader of the Opposition, while Alex Perici Calascione has been appointed Deputy Leader and Shadow Minister for Tourism. Bernard Grech has been named Deputy Speaker and Shadow Minister for European Funds, Social Dialogue and Consumer Protection, Ivan Castillo will serve as Whip and Shadow Minister for Sustainable Mobility, and John Baptist Camilleri has been appointed Spokesperson for Aviation.

Janice Abela Chetcuti has been appointed Shadow Minister for Animal Welfare, with Andrew Agius serving as Spokesperson for Veterinary Services.

Graziella Attard Previ will oversee Equality and Civil Rights, while Miriana Calleja Testaferrata De Noto has been appointed Spokesperson for Social Cohesion.

Ivan Bartolo has been named Shadow Minister for Social Policy and the Family, with Norma Camilleri taking on the role of Spokesperson for Family and Children's Policy.

Graham Bencini will be Shadow Minister for Sport, Toni Bezzina has been appointed Assistant Whip and Shadow Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Supply, Bernice Bonello will oversee Local Government and Public Works, Julian Borg has been named Shadow Minister for Infrastructure and Employment, while Annabelle Cilia will serve as Assistant Whip and Spokesperson for Employment.

Rebekah Borg has been appointed Shadow Minister for Planning, Eve Borg Bonello will oversee Youth, Wellbeing and the Implementation of the Electoral Programme, while Ian Vassallo Hagi has been named Spokesperson for Quality of Life.

Conrad Borg Manché will serve as Shadow Minister for Home Affairs and Security, Darren Carabott has been appointed Shadow Minister for the Economy, Technology and Strategic Projects, Jerome Caruana Cilia will oversee Education and Citizenship, Adrian Delia has been named Shadow Minister for Finance, Beppe Fenech Adami will be responsible for Foreign and European Affairs, Beppe Galea has been appointed Shadow Minister for the Voluntary Sector, Graziella Galea will oversee Inclusion, Joe Giglio has been named Shadow Minister for Justice, Research and Innovation, while George Vital Zammit will serve as Spokesperson for Research and Innovation.

Paula Mifsud Bonnici has been appointed Shadow Minister for the Elderly, Michael Piccinino will oversee the Self-Employed, Small Enterprises and Cooperatives, Mark Anthony Sammut has been named Shadow Minister for Energy and the Environment, Justin Schembri will be responsible for Arts, Culture and National Heritage, while Marilena Gauci has been appointed Spokesperson for the Film Industry.

Stephen Spiteri has been named Shadow Minister for Health, Frank Anthony Tabone will oversee Gozo, Julie Zahra has been appointed Shadow Minister for Climate Change and the Regeneration of the Grand Harbour, while Stanley Zammit has been named Shadow Minister for Accommodation and Lands.

Following the announcement, Alex Borg said the appointments were possible because of the strength of the PN Parliamentary Group. He said the Shadow Cabinet would serve the Maltese and Gozitan people by presenting practical solutions aimed at improving their quality of life, while demonstrating that the Partit Nazzjonalista is ready to govern.
