Nationalist Party Leader Alex Borg has pledged to continue the party's renewal process after the recent general election, saying the result showed that an increasing number of Maltese and Gozitan voters are seeking a credible alternative to the current government.

Speaking during an interview on NET Television, Borg acknowledged that PN did not achieve the result it had hoped for, but pointed to gains of more than 13,000 votes compared to the previous election.

He noted that the party increased its support in every electoral district, won six districts and regained a majority in Gozo.

Borg said PN will continue serving as a serious and responsible Opposition while strengthening its connection with the public.

He announced that he will seek the party's trust once again to lead the next phase of renewal, with plans to modernise party structures and encourage greater participation.

Among the proposed reforms are amendments to the party statute that would create two Deputy Leader posts, separating responsibility for party affairs and parliamentary work.

The PN leader also revealed that more than 1,150 people submitted feedback through an online consultation process, which he described as part of the party's effort to become more open, inclusive and closer to the people.
