Alex Borg Set To Give Up Seat In Gozo Ahead Of Casual Elections

Alex Borg is set to give up his seat in District 13, which is made up of Gozo, after receiving lesser first-count votes there when compared to district 12.
The party statue states that MPs who contested in more than one district must give up the district where they received the least amount of first-count votes, calculated in percentage to the district quota.
Borg contested on both District 12 and 13, receiving a higher percentage in the 12th district, which includes St Paul’s Bay and Mellieħa.
By relinquishing his Gozo seat, Borg will hand the chance to either Norma Camilleri or Luke Said, ahead of casual elections.
