Newly elected Nationalist Party (PN) leader Alex Borg has pledged that 1% of the funds raised during his first fundraising marathon as party leader will be donated to two NGOs supporting mental health.

The marathon happened during Malta’s Mental Health Awareness Week, highlighting Borg’s commitment to using his political role to support social causes beyond party politics.

Speaking about the donation, Borg expressed his gratitude to supporters across Malta and Gozo, saying, “As a party, yes, we need help, but I believe that in moments of success like today, we can also do our small part to help those in need.”

Borg described the gesture as “a moment for the nation to come together,” signalling that even small acts of generosity can make a meaningful difference.

The marathon raised a total of €508,225, marking a strong start to Borg’s tenure while also demonstrating the party’s commitment to giving back to the community.
