Alex Borg Reconfirmed as PN Leader and Opposition Leader After Overwhelming Party Suppor

Alex Borg will continue serving as Leader of the Nationalist Party (PN) and Malta’s Leader of the Opposition after receiving overwhelming backing from party members, securing a record 98% vote of confidence.

The vote came as the party faced a crucial decision on whether to continue its journey under Borg’s leadership following its defeat in the general election against the Labour Party. However, the result signals strong support among PN members, who appear to believe that the young Gozitan leader can guide the party towards a renewed future.

Reacting to the result on social media, Borg expressed his gratitude, writing: “Imċekken bil-fiduċja tagħkom fija.” He thanked party members and supporters for reaffirming their trust in him and for the confidence they placed in his leadership.

The strong endorsement marks a significant moment for Borg as he continues his efforts to rebuild the party and strengthen its position ahead of future political challenges.
