Alex Borg Proposes Removing Taxes On Inherited Property, Family Businesses & Donations Between Relatives

During a mass rally in Birkirkara, PN Leader Alex Borg proposed a number of tax-related measures that could form part of the party’s upcoming electoral manifesto.
Among the proposals announced was the complete removal of taxes on property transfers made through inheritance. This would include the full removal of stamp duty on inherited immovable property, without any value limit.
Borg also proposed the removal of taxes and stamp duty on the succession of family businesses passed down through inheritance. The measure would apply both to company shares and to immovable property used for commercial purposes.
Another proposal focused on property donations within families, with the PN leader announcing plans to remove taxes and stamp duty on immovable property transferred by parents to their children or grandchildren through donation. According to the proposal, the exemption would apply to all types of immovable property.
