Alex Borg Proposes First Ever Speed Cameras In Gozo To Avoid Road Fatalities

The Nationalist Party are proposing the installation of a speed camera in Triq l-Imġarr in Għajnsielem, Gozo uif elected into government following the next general election.

PN said the measure is aimed at reducing speeding and preventing further serious or fatal accidents along the busy road.

The proposal forms part of a wider package of measures focused on security, justice and social support in Gozo. Among them is the creation of a specialised shelter for victims of domestic violence, where individuals would be offered safe and private accommodation together with immediate assistance from social workers, psychologists and other professionals.

They are also proposing the establishment of a specialised Police squad in Gozo to investigate serious crimes including drug trafficking, human trafficking and exploitation.

Another proposal focuses on the Courts in Gozo, with the party calling for a modern and adequately equipped Court building. The PN said accessible and efficient justice should form part of a broader vision for security and public safety on the island.
