Alex Borg Proposes Discarding Of Nikolaus & Upgrading Fleet With 2 Vessels

Speaking during a conference organised by MEP Peter Agius, PN Leader Alex Borg said that a new Nationalist government would completely discard of the MV Nikolaos vessel and instead invest in two vessels, one for passengers and the other for mercantile.

Borg said that the Nikolaos is not up to standard but the fleet needs to be upgraded and brought up to five vessels. The mercantile vessel, Borg said, would go directly to the Grand Harbour, and then this route would be extended to the Free Port.

Borg said that a Calming Room would also be set up on the all the passenger vessel, which would help persons and children struggling with anxiety.

The PN Leader also proposed the Marsalforn breakwater, which he said would be crucial to avoid more damage done to businesses and residents in the locality.
