Alex Borg On Difference Between Leader Of Nationalist Party & Leader Of Opposition

Asked by Malta Daily, Nationalist Party leader Alex Borg said that the reason for the new offices in Valletta is to be closer to the people and the heart of the work ongoing in the country.

When asked, Borg said that there needs to be a distinction between Leader of the Nationalist Party and Leader of the Opposition.

As leader of the Nationalist Party, he said his job is to manage, monitor and work out the necessary reforms that the party itself needs. As leader of the Opposition however he must keep the government in check and offer an alternative to the public who goes out to vote.

This means, he said, the new capital city offices will be a move by Alex as leader of the Opposition to be closer to the people, whilst the Dar Ċentrali in Pieta will be the base of the party.
