Alex Borg Makes It Clear He Doesn't Want Other Mosques In Malta

During the debate organised by Il-Każin along with Times of Malta, Alex Borg was asked whether he would develop another mosque in Malta.
He clarified that he believes everyone has the right to practice their religion, referring to the already existing Mosque in Raħal Ġdid.
“I come from a demo-christian party and I perpetuate those values, I’m proud of those values, and for this reason, I don’t believe we should have another mosque in our country,” stated Borg.
Borg explained how the party he represents is demo-christian.
The person posing the question referred to Malta’s constitution, which reportedly states that Malta is a Catholic country, however every person has the right to practice their faith.
Borg responded to this by reinstating that anyone has the right to practice whatever religion they follow within the mosque that is already available.
When challenged regarding the current mosque’s capacity, Borg stated that there are “other places” where people can practice.
“I will not promise things I cannot deliver on,” said Alex, “The fact that there is one mosque in the country we are in is enough.”
Both, PM Robert Abela and Opposition Leader Alex Borg previously stated that they do not agree with the Quran being taught in Maltese state classrooms.
