Alex Borg Engages Youth At AŻAD Youth Centre

PN Leader Alex Borg said the party intends to work harder to create a country that offers hope, opportunities and peace of mind.
Speaking at the AŻAD centre in Valletta during a session with participants in the Future Leaders programme, he responded to questions on issues raised by young people.
On youth prospects, Borg said the PN wants young people to play a central role in shaping the country. He referred to platforms such as Local Councils and the Youth Think Tank, which he said help young people contribute to policy formation.
Addressing the cost of living and housing, he described affordability as one of the most pressing challenges for younger generations.
Borg outlined proposals including loan schemes with more favourable rates for first time buyers, additional support schemes and government backed loan guarantees intended to ease access to home ownership.
On education, he said the PN would focus on equipping students with both academic skills and the ability to continue learning throughout their careers.
He highlighted the need for workers trained in sectors such as artificial intelligence and 3D printing.
Borg said that environmental concerns require an approach where development and sustainability are balanced.
He reiterated that the PN wants environmental protection to be included in the Constitution.
On mental health, he stated that the country needs stronger community structures and a new mental health hospital located close to Mater Dei Hospital to maintain continuity of care.
