Alex Borg Becomes Viral Meme Overnight After ‘Nifs Ġdid’ Slogan Launch

Following the unveiling of the Nationalist Party general election slogan, memes started spreading across social media with creators playing on the ‘Nifs Ġdid’ slogan and billboard art.

The parodies took jabs at the new breath slogan, depicting Alex smoking cannabis or using asthma inhalers.

The meme went immediately viral, being shared on local social media as election fever picks up across the country.

The PN was not the only party to end up the victim of these parodies, as other photos edited the Labour Party’s ‘Int Malta’ slogan, changing it to ‘Int India’.

Such slogans however thread the line between satire and discriminatory remarks, especially the ‘Int India’ meme.
