Alex Borg Backs Vanessa Frazier After Israeli Ambassador Confrontation

In a statement, Nationalist Party leader Alex Borg backed Maltese United Nations Vanessa Frazier after her a heated exchange with Israeli UN Ambassador Danny Danon.
‘Beyond the fact that Vanessa Frazier is Maltese like us and is carrying out her duties in the best possible way and in the best interests of the United Nations, an argument, especially a diplomatic one, must never, under any circumstances, degenerate into a personal attack in which someone tries to silence another person rather than win the argument through reason’, wrote Borg.
During the exchange, Danon demanded Frazier ‘be quiet’ after she attempted to raise a point of order.
‘Therefore, I would like to express my full support for Vanessa Frazier and encourage her to continue carrying out her work fearlessly, for and in the best interests of humanity.’
Danon raised his voice in response, saying: “No, you be quiet, because I am speaking now.” He accused her of being part of the same alleged obsession and said Israel would not allow UN officials to “bully” it.
Frazier’s recent report placed Israel’s army and security forces on a UN list for grave violations against Palestinian children.
