Alex Borg Addresses Backlash Regarding Skyline Policy and High-Rise Tower In Gozo

During yesterday’s Independence mass meeting, Alex Borg addressed backlash he received about an interview he carried out a few days prior where he did not deny the possibility of a high-rise tower in Gozo.

Yesterday, he emphasised that the country’s local plans must be revisited in order to achieve long-term future gain.

Borg clarified that he believes in the implementation of a skyline policy.

“We have a reality in our country,” he stated, “that we started building towers, however the government never implemented a skyline policy on a national basis.”

He denied that he is driven to build high-rise towers in Gozo, stating that he will continue to defend Malta’s sister island, as he has always done.

“Gozo has identity, it has character, and we will stand with the Gozitan population,” finished Borg.
