Alex Borg Accepts Meeting Invitation From Robert Abela

Speaking exclusively to Malta Daily during an interview, newly elected Nationalist Party leader Alex Borg confirmed that he has accepted Prime Minister Robert Abela’s invitation for a one-on-one meeting. The invitation was extended by Abela at the Labour Party Headquarters, with Borg adding that he will reciprocate the gesture by inviting the Prime Minister to the PN Headquarters.

Borg explained that this type of exchange reflects the kind of politics he wants to promote – “not defined by colours but by the Maltese flag” – with both sides working together for the good of the country.

The move comes after Abela publicly invited Borg to a meeting earlier this week, stressing that cooperation between both sides of Parliament is in the interest of the Maltese people. Borg’s acceptance marks one of his first official steps since narrowly winning the PN leadership race, defeating former leader Adrian Delia by just 44 votes.
