ALEX AGIUS SALIBA THANKS SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION WORKERS AHEAD OF NEW ACADEMIC YEAR

Labour Deputy Leader and MEP Alex Agius Saliba visited workers carrying out maintenance and preparation works in schools ahead of the upcoming scholastic year, thanking them for their dedication and hard work.

In a social media post, Agius Saliba described the visit as an opportunity to express his appreciation to the employees who are helping ensure schools are ready to welcome students and educators when the new academic year begins.

He also took the opportunity to remind the public of the importance of staying safe during the current heatwave, joining calls for people to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun whenever possible and to remain well hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

With temperatures remaining exceptionally high across Malta, health authorities have continued to encourage the public to take precautions against the heat, particularly vulnerable groups such as the elderly, young children and those working outdoors.

Agius Saliba's message combined recognition for the workers preparing Malta's schools with a timely appeal for everyone to prioritise their health and safety during the hot summer weather.
