Alex Agius Saliba Expresses Pride as Malta Honours State of Palestine

Alex Agius Saliba, deputy leader of the Labour Party, took to his Facebook page following a speech he gave in the European Parliament regarding Malta’s acknowledgment of the state of Palestine.

Agius Saliba stated, “At the European Parliament yesterday I spoke about the pride I felt last Monday when I saw the Palestinian flag being raised for the first time at the Palestinian embassy in Malta.”He stated how this ceremonies activity followed the Maltese government’s recognition of the state of Palestine which  occurred at the 80th edition of the United Nations General Assembly, where Robert Abela officially recognised the state during his speech.

“I appealed for every European state to do the same,” continued Agius Salba, “if we someday want to seriously speak about a solution on the two states in the Middle East.”
