Albanians Celebrate Albania Day In Malta

The 28th of November is Albania day, locally known as Dita e Pavarësisë!

This is Albania’s Independence Day, commemorating the Albanian Declaration of Independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1912.

Ismail Qemali, who is regarded as the founder of the country, raised the Albanian flag over the city of Vlora back in 1912, and declared Albania’s independence.

The celebrations even made their way to Malta! With Albanians who reside here taking the streets to play Albanian music and wave their countries flag.
