AI Video Reimagines Maltese Politicians As World Cup Footballers

The latest AI video by Miirko Sant, who recently reimagined Malta’s leading political figures engaging in an MMA fight, has now reimagined some of those same politicians as World Cup footballers.

The video has former Prime Ministers Joseph Muscat and Lawrence Gonzi, along with current Prime Minister Robert Abela and Deputy Prime Minister Ian Borg, kicking and passing the ball around as World Cup players.

The Maltese team ends up winning the entire league, with the video calling them ‘the smallest nation to ever win it.’

This is not the latest AI video to reimagine local politicians in sports scenarios, but concerns over the hyper-realistic clips potentially misrepresenting reality for those less media-literate is ever present.

AI-generated content has the power to misrepresent candidates, fabricate events that never happened, amplify partisan narratives, and undermine trust in legitimate media.
