AFM Running Combat Engineer Trade Course For 3rd Regiment

The 3rd Regiment of the Armed Forces of Malta has been running a Combat Engineer Trade Course with the aim of strengthening this niche capability within the Force.

The Combat Engineer is a specialised soldier who supports land forces by ensuring mobility, constructing defences and managing hazards on the battlefield, the AFM explained.

The training enhances troop survivability by either building or removing obstacles. Last week, the training program culminated with an intricate exercise, where participants had the opportunity to apply in practice the training they received throughout the course.

‘The course proves fundamental to 3rd Regiment day-to-day duties whilst strengthening the operational skills and readiness of our soldiers.’
