AFM Airlift Two Crew Members In Need Of Medical Attention Out At Sea

Yesterday, the Malta Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC) coordinated a medical evacuation from onboard a vessel.

It was reported that two crew members were in need of urgent medical attention, prompting a response despite the adverse weather conditions out at sea.

Despite this, both crew members were safely airlifted by an Armed Forces of Malta helicopter, who were then handed over to Mater Dei Hospital personnel for further treatment.

The AFM is urging the public to take note of inclement weather notices from authorities to avoid venturing near or out at sea when such warnings are issued.
