A new 5,500 square metre garden has been officially opened along the coast road. Formerly an abandoned site, Ġnien it-Tbissim has been transformed into a green space ideal for families, with over 500 trees and plenty of accessible play areas for children.

Co-financed by the European Union and inaugurated by the Environment Minister Miriam Dalli and the European Funds Minister Keith Azzopardi Tanti, the project represents a €1 million investment into the Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq community and the 1,000+ residents living within walking distance.

Speaking at the inauguration, Dalli highlighted the importance of open spaces and green initiatives to the quality of life in local communities. Tanti, in turn, spoke about how European funds are instrumental in facilitating environmental spaces in Malta.

Ġnien it-Tbissim will be open between 7am and 10pm every day in summers, and between 7am and 8pm during winter.
