Abela Trusted By 45.2%, Borg At 35.3%, MaltaToday Survey Shows

MaltaToday’s post budget survey shows Robert Abela maintaining a trust lead over Alex Borg, with 45.2% of voters saying they trust the Prime Minister to run the country, against 35.3% for the PN leader.
The gap has narrowed from 13 points in October to 10, as Abela drops two points and Borg gains one.
Borg is trusted by 87% of current PN voters, while the share of PN voters who trust neither leader has fallen sharply to 10.2%, down from 38.1% in June under Bernard Grech.
Party support remains almost identical to last month. The Labour Party stands at 48.7% and the PN at 46.1%, with third parties at 5.2%.
Based on a projected turnout of 81%, the PL leads by 7,602 votes. Labour retains 78.9% of its 2022 vote, while the PN retains 86.8%.
The PL is losing 11.8% of its 2022 voters to abstention, compared to 5% for the PN. The PN is also attracting 17.8% of 2022 non-voters, while Labour draws only 7.7% from this group.
Among 2022 voters, 7.9% of Labour supporters now back the PN, while 5.4% of PN supporters switch to Labour.
The PN loses 2.8% to third parties, compared to 1.4% for Labour.
Regionally, Labour leads by 21.8 points in the South Harbour and 33 points in the South Eastern region, where Abela’s trust rating has risen to 64.2%.
The PN leads by 11.1 points in the Northern region, 10.5 in the North Harbour and by 4.9 in Gozo, although its support in Gozo has declined by eight points.
