‘A Night In Santa Venera’ Set To Take Place This Saturday

On Saturday, 12th July, from 8pm onwards, the event ‘A Night in Santa Venera’ will showcase the best of this vibrant locality. Various local associations will exhibit their work, alongside live performances by the group Kantera and the duo Dario and Muni. The evening promises a celebration of all things Maltese — including food, traditional festivals, and even the art of fireworks.
The announcement was made by Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government Alison Zerafa Civelli and Santa Venera Mayor Gianluca Falzon. The event is part of a wider programme of cultural activities organised by local councils, supported by a dedicated funding scheme aimed at promoting cultural initiatives.
One of the highlights will be a display by the Fireworks Association of 26th July, which will present materials and equipment used by pyrotechnicians to educate the public about their craft. The event will also feature groups involved in Santa Venera’s Festa Esterna, such as the Festa Esterna Committee and the Santa Venera Philharmonic Society.

Parliamentary Secretary Zerafa Civelli expressed her satisfaction at the vital role local councils play in hosting such cultural events, which allow both residents and visitors to enjoy themselves while learning about their heritage.
“‘A Night in Santa Venera’ perfectly illustrates how culture, tradition and community spirit can come together in a single event. The Local Government Division continues to support these initiatives through schemes dedicated to cultural activities, giving every locality the chance to showcase its heritage, unite people and foster pride this time in Santa Venera.” she said.

Mayor Falzon added that several local organisations would be participating, including the Scouts, who will run activities such as archery and games. Attendees can also enjoy various food, sweet, and drink stalls, as well as performances from Kantera and the duo Dario and Muni.
“I warmly invite all Santa Venera residents, as well as Maltese and Gozitans keen to discover what our locality has to offer, to join us for a family-friendly evening. This event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our traditions and local heritage. To help with parking, four car parks will be open throughout the evening.” said Mayor Falzon, encouraging everyone to attend from 8pm onwards.
