Minister for Gozo and Planning, Clint Camilleri, has announced that the 8th edition of the International Kite and Wind Festival will take place between 18 and 19 October at San Dimitri, Għarb, Gozo. Each year, the festival attracts thousands of visitors, including locals, Maltese residents, and international professionals, all eager to fly kites.
Minister Camilleri stated,“The International Kite and Wind Festival will not only continue to bring life to Gozo during this beautiful time of year, but it also demonstrates our commitment to strengthening sustainable tourism and Gozo’s cultural identity, particularly during the shoulder months, which have traditionally been quieter.”He went on to explain that for two full days, in one of the most picturesque open spaces in the Maltese islands, the Gozo sky will be illuminated with colours and shapes as thousands of kites of all sizes and designs fill the air.

The festival experience does not end there. Spectacular windsurfing and kite surfing shows will also take place. Workshops will be held where participants can design and create their own kites, offering an ideal experience for both children and entire families.
Attendees will also enjoy cultural performances, delicious international cuisine, and the work of local artisans, all within an atmosphere of joy, colour, and community. This event unites culture, art, nature, and entertainment in an unforgettable experience for all who attend.
