86% of the measures announced in Malta’s Budget 2026 have been implemented, with the figure expected to reach 90% by the end of the year, according to the new government publication ‘Implementation of the 2026 Budget’.

The Head of the Public Service Tony Sultana presented the findings to Finance Minister Clyde Caruana, saying that budget measures must go beyond promises on paper and deliver noticeable results for the public.

Among the measures implemented are €160 million in tax reductions for parents, a €10 weekly pension increase benefiting more than 100,000 pensioners, and higher children’s allowances for around 10,800 low-income families.

The government has also increased student stipends by 15%, raised the Carer at Home scheme to €9,000 annually, and extended the Pink Card to people aged 65 and over.

Around 9,500 people have already benefited from the Pink Card extension, while Servizz.gov centres have introduced Saturday opening hours and a new branch in Birżebbuġa.

The publication also highlights projects completed this year under previous budgets, including the Census Moran Regional Health Centre and an AI-powered Servizz.gov portal.
