In the presence of Finance Minister Clyde Caruana and senior officials, Principal Permanent Secretary Tony Sultana launched the publication It-Twettiq tal-Baġit 2025, announcing that the implementation rate of the 2025 Budget reached 86%.

This represents a 2% increase over the previous year and comes just days before the announcement of the 2026 Budget.

Mr Sultana explained that this year’s Budget contained 326 measures, with 62% focusing on social priorities, 20% on environmental goals, and 18% on economic development.

He credited the strong implementation results to the coordinated work of departments, directorates, and entities under the direction of the Office of the Prime Minister.

The Coordination and Implementation Division has strengthened its monitoring system to address challenges more efficiently.

Sultana emphasised that public administration employees are central to turning Budget measures into results, ensuring that the programme functions as a tool for social and economic transformation.

Minister Caruana said the consistently high implementation rate reflects the Government’s careful financial planning and commitment to meeting national targets.

He noted that, unlike other countries facing cuts and rising unemployment, Malta’s economy remains stable with record levels of employment and improved fiscal performance.

He added that next week’s Budget will continue to support families and businesses while reinforcing the foundations of the country’s economy.
