82% Of Manifesto Measures Implemented, Says Robert Abela

The Maltese government has implemented 82% of its electoral manifesto commitments, Prime Minister Robert Abela said, as he marked four years since securing a electoral mandate.
Speaking at a press conference in Marsa, the Prime Minister highlighted what he described as tangible improvements in the daily lives of Maltese and Gozitan families, despite ongoing international challenges.
Over the past four years, the government has prioritised social investment, allocating more than €6 billion since 2022.
Measures included increased children’s allowances, tax reductions for workers and parents, and reforms aimed at improving quality of life.
Changes to IVF laws, strengthened services in Gozo, and reforms in the Family Court were also cited among key achievements.
On the economic front, Malta registered strong performance, with national wealth surpassing the eurozone average and unemployment reaching the lowest level in the EU.
The country also maintained stable energy prices through nearly €1 billion in subsidies, remaining the only European nation not to raise electricity, fuel, or gas prices.
Looking ahead, the government outlined plans tied to Malta Vision 2050, including major investments in artificial intelligence, education, and infrastructure, alongside continued reforms aimed at sustaining long-term growth and stability.
