7th Edition Of Mqabba 5K Run In Aid of ALS Malta+ Set To Return

The seventh edition of the Mqabba 5K Run in aid of ALS Malta+ is set to return, reaffirming its commitment to building a more inclusive community while promoting an active lifestyle.

Organised by the Soċjetà Mużikali Madonna tal-Ġilju, the annual event continues to grow in popularity, with a record number of 900 participants expected this year.

The event features a 5-kilometre race alongside a dedicated 1-kilometre route designed specifically for wheelchair users and persons with disabilities, ensuring accessibility and participation for all.

This inclusive approach remains at the heart of the initiative, offering equal opportunities regardless of ability.

Funds raised will support ALS Malta+ in providing essential services, including therapy and respite care for individuals affected by the condition.

Last year’s edition attracted over 700 participants, while organisers are aiming to reach 900 athletes this year.

The event has also received financial support from the Ministry for Inclusion and Volunteering. During the launch, Minister Julia Farrugia praised the initiative, highlighting its role in fostering solidarity, healthy living, and ensuring that no one is left behind.
