76-Year Old Man Dies After Wall Collapses In Ħal Qormi

A 76-year-old man from Ħal Qormi has died after a dividing wall collapsed at a private property in Triq ta’ Farsina on Monday evening.

The incident occurred at around 5.30pm while the man was reportedly carrying out work on the property. He became trapped beneath the rubble when the wall gave way.

His 41-year-old son, who was with him at the time, narrowly escaped serious injury. He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for medical treatment, with his condition still being assessed.

Civil Protection Department personnel and medical teams from Mater Dei Hospital were immediately dispatched to the scene. Despite efforts to administer first aid, the elderly man was certified dead on site shortly afterwards.

Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
