76 Persons Arrested After Being Found Living/Working Illegally In Malta

In a coordinated effort, the Malta Police Force arrested 76 persons after they were found to be living and/or working in the country illegally.
These inspections took place on various buses in Malta and Gozo, as well as private and work vehicles.
The persons hailed from Syria, Nigeria, Gambia, Ghana, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Mali, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia and Serbia.
They are currently residing at the detention centre before they are repatriated.
During these inspections, police were assisted by officials from the Detention Agency Services, as well as Transport Malta, Jobs Plus and Identita.
Such inspections are set to continue.
