76% Of Maltese Youth Generative AI In 2025

According to data released by Eurostat, 76% of Maltese youth aged 16 to 24 used generative AI tools in 2025.
This is well over the EU average of 63.8% in the same year.
Generative artificial intelligence is a subfield of AI that uses generative models to generate text, images, videos, audio and other forms of data.
The highest rate was registered in Greece at 83.5%, followed by Estonia and Czechia at 82.8% and 78.5%.
Malta’s closest neighbour Italy registered the second lowest use of AI generative tools at just 47.2%, with Romania overtaking it with the least amount of use at 44.1% for the age group.
