74 Year Old Man Dies After Getting Trapped Between Excavator & Truck

Today, at around 10:15am, the Police were informed that assistance was required at a field in Sqaq il-Kalkara, Ħad-Dingli.
The Police immediately went to the scene and, from preliminary investigations, it emerged that a 74-year-old man residing in Mellieħa was unloading an excavator from a truck when, for some reason, he became trapped between them.
Members of the Civil Protection Department and a medical team from Mater Dei Hospital were called to the scene to assist. However, the man was certified dead at the scene.
Magistrate Monica Borg Galea LL.D. was informed of the case and opened an inquiry, while Police investigations are still ongoing.
