70-Year-Old Woman Dies Following Traffic Accident in Mġarr

A 70-year-old woman from Mġarr has died after she was hit by a vehicle in a traffic accident that occurred on the 2nd of March in Triq iż-Żebbiegħ, Mġarr.

The accident took place at around 9:30am on Monday, when the Police were informed of the incident and immediately proceeded to the scene. Preliminary investigations revealed that the woman was struck by a Ford Transit driven by a 39-year-old man, also resident in Mġarr.

A medical team was called to the scene and an ambulance conveyed the woman to Mater Dei Hospital, where she was later certified as suffering from serious injuries. However, in a subsequent statement, Police confirmed that the woman sadly passed away as a result of the injuries she sustained.

Duty Magistrate Franco Agius has appointed an inquiry, while Police investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
