7-Year-Old Becomes Youngest Boy In Malta To Run 5km

The Malta Records proudly announced the achievement of a new national record yesterday during a special visit to the picturesque village of San Lawrenz.
Seven-year-old Francesco Grima Portelli made history by becoming the youngest boy in the Maltese Islands to run a distance of 5 kilometres, completing the course in an impressive time of 23 minutes and 43.40 seconds. He accomplished this remarkable feat at just 7 years and 314 days old.
The record-breaking run was held in aid of Dar Bjorn.
A special word of thanks goes to Luke Saliba, LESA officer no. 831, who kindly transported a Malta Records jury member in his vehicle and ensured traffic control was in place for the entire route, allowing the event to proceed safely and smoothly.
Well done, Francesco!
