68% Of Maltese In 2024 Owned Their Home

According to Eurostat, 68.1% of Maltese living in households owned their home in 2024, with 31.9% being tenants.

Meanwhile, Malta registered the third highest share of flats at 63.1%, with 36.6% being houses, and 0.3% being houseboats, camping vans, etc.

Malta also recorded the largest size of housing at 2.2 rooms per person, with the size of housing measured as the average number of rooms per person.

The Mediterranean island also registered the second lowest overcrowding rate at 4%, in between Cyprus and Netherlands at 2% and 5%.
