57-year-old Man Seriously Injured After Being Hit by Car in Sliema

A 57-year-old man from San Pawl il-Baħar suffered serious injuries after being struck by a car in Sliema on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred at around 7:30am in Triq ix-Xatt. Preliminary investigations showed that the man was unloading items from an Isuzu Elf van when he was hit by a Peugeot 3008 driven by a 42-year-old Libyan man residing in Birkirkara.
A medical team was called to the scene, and an ambulance transported the injured man to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment, where he was later certified to have sustained serious injuries.
Magistrate Dr Monica Borg Galea LL.D has been informed of the case and has opened an inquiry, while police investigations are still ongoing.
