55 Persons Prosecuted For Public Cannabis Use

Responding to a parliamentary question posed by Nationalist MP Albert Buttigieg, Minister Byron Camilleri revealed that 55 persons have been fined for using cannabis in public between May 2025 and September 23rd 2025.
In December of 2021, recreational cannabis cultivation and use was legalised for those aged 18 years old and above.
Smoking in public remains banned, with fines of between €50 and €100 for anyone caught in possession of up to 28 grams.
