55.7% Of Maltese Disagree That Major Political Parties Are The Same

According to the State of the Nation survey, 21.7% of Maltese agreed with the notion that the two major political parties (Partit Laburista and Partit Nazzjonalista) are essentially the same.
A whopping 55.7% said they disagree, whereas 19.6% said they somewhat agree.
When asked if they ever sought help from a political if they ever needed something, 68.9% said they never did so, whereas 31.1% said they did. The Gozo region was the one with the highest amount of persons admitting to seeking help from politicians.
When asked why they support the political party they support, 75.5% of respondents said they do so because the party agrees with their ideas. 24.8% said they form their ideas according to the party they identify with.
When asked if they will be voting in the next general election, 79.5% said they would be voting, with just 5.0% saying they won’t. 15.5% remain undecided.
This study consists of a sample of 1,064 people aged 16 and over. The sample was collected between the third week of June and the second week of July of this year.
