500 Cats and 200 Dogs Adopted in 2025

Around 700 domestic animals have found their forever homes in 2025, with Animal Welfare Malta confirming that approximately 500 cats and 200 dogs were successfully adopted throughout the year.

The organisation described each adoption as a “second chance,” crediting the dedication of its staff and the commitment of adopters who opened their homes to animals in need.

Animal Welfare Malta also encouraged the public to consider adoption in the coming year, reminding prospective owners that many animals are still waiting for loving families.

The organisation highlighted that adopting a pet can be a life-changing experience not only for the animal, but also for the adopter.

As 2026 approaches, Animal Welfare Malta continues its appeal for responsible pet adoption, emphasising the lasting impact that providing a safe and caring home can have on abandoned and rescued animals.
