5.1 Magnitude Earthquake Off Italy Coast Felt In Malta

A 5.1 magnitude earthquake, which was reported to have taken place off the southern coast of Italy, was felt by many in Malta this Saturday morning.
According to Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics and Vulcanology in Rome, the tremor was recorded at 0553hrs.
It was mainly reportedly felt in St Julian’s, Mgarr, Marsascala, Ħal Kirkop and Birkirkara, and was one of the strongest tremors in the area in recent days.
