49-Year-Old Man Seriously Injured in Bormla Hit-and-Run

A 49-year-old man was seriously injured after being struck by a car in Bormla on Sunday morning, 9th of August.
The incident occurred at around 11:30am in Triq Hanover, where police were called to assist after reports of an injured person.
Police officers who arrived at the scene found that the victim, a resident of St Paul’s Bay, had been hit by a Peugeot. The driver allegedly fled the scene immediately after the incident.
The injured man was given medical assistance by a medical team before being taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. He was later certified to have sustained serious injuries.
Police launched an intensive investigation into the incident. Shortly afterwards, the Peugeot believed to have been involved was located in Triq San Ġorġ, Bormla.
A 37-year-old man, also from Bormla, was arrested in connection with the incident and is believed to be the driver of the vehicle.
Police investigations are ongoing as authorities work to establish the exact circumstances and dynamics of the incident.
